WATER: The easiest way to judge if your Kokedama needs water is by the weight of the ball. Lift the ball in your hand and see if it feels heavy, if so it has enough water. If it feels a bit light, fill a bowl, bucket or sink with water and sit your kokedama in the water, plant side up. Soak for 10-20 minutes or until it feels heavy again. Now you can either gently squeeze the ball to remove excess outside water or place in a colander to drain before replacing on its tray. Many kokedama appreciate misting inbetween soaking to keep the moss damp.

PLACEMENT: Your Kokedama should be kept where it will receive bright, indirect sunlight or under fluorescent home/office lighting. Direct sunlight will make them dry out too quickly. As with most ferns, try to avoid placing in a draughty place

FERTILIZING: Your Kokedama will appreciate an occasional feed to keep it healthy. We add a good liquid seaweed fertiliser such as Seasol to the soaking water every month or two.
